Hi friends! I hope the holiday season is treating you well. And I hope you are treating yourself well too :)
This month, I set a goal to make a daily smoothie. It's been fun to play with different recipes and load up on nutrients! I'm not using these as meal replacements (I'm not a believer in skipping or replacing meals in most situations), but rather a snack between breakfast and lunch.
I had found that most days, when lunch time arrived, I was STARVING. So I would scarf down a large portion of (usually) leftovers, proceed to feel tired and sluggish, and my productivity in the afternoon was... not ideal.
Since starting the mid-morning smoothies, I am not as famished by the lunch hour. I eat less, feel more alert, and I'm SO much more productive.
I also make sure to snack between lunch and dinner, typically veggies/crackers + hummus, an orange/apple, handful of almonds, granola bar, etc.
It's so much better for our digestion if we can avoid going into a meal ravenously hungry. We can take time to slow down and listen to our bodies hunger cues BEFORE over-indulging.

Another tip for staying alert + productive all day, make sure you're drinking enough H20. Remember, at least EIGHT 8 oz glasses per day (and more if you're exercising. Add another 8 oz glass for every 30 mins you do strenuous exercise)!
